Ropin’ Dreams was very busy in 2016, sharing dreams across the country. We were able to impact over 60 families from California, Utah, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. In July, we scheduled a hospital visit at the Children’s Hospital of Salt Lake City where some of the very talented rodeo athletes took time out of their schedule to spend time with approximately 50 children. Aleyda was our special guest at the Ty Murray Invitational Bull Riding in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jaxson was the special guest of the Cactus Jack Foundation Touring Pro PBR in Uvalde, TX and while attending the event, Jaxson decided that he wanted to ride a sheep! You can check out the video on our Facebook page. 2016 was also the first year for “doing a dream at the California Rodeo Salinas” Nathan and his family were able to experience the traditions of this famous rodeo and spend time with some of his favorite bull fighters. All of these children are such inspirations for everyone that was able to spend time with them. We were so blessed to meet some of the nicest people on our dreams, helping children just seems to bring out the spirit of our country.
Our annual fundraiser: The Ropin’ Dreams Team Roping was a great success and many thanks to all the team ropers who come out every year to support our kids. We are blessed to have the Cowboy Fellowship of Atascosa County donate their covered arena for our team roping. They have donated their facility to the event every year for the past 3 years.
In 2017 Ropin’ Dreams will be celebrating 15 years and we are in planning for some very exciting activities and reaching out to more children and their families! Special thank you to all of our volunteers, sponsors who without your support we would not be able to assist the children that we do. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Mike White Pasture Team Roping as well as the Youth Bull Rider’s Association for their very generous donations and support over the past years, it is because of their support that we are able to reach children and their families.
